No, being with him shouldn't make you feel that way. And he should want you to be happy too.
If I found myself feeling like I had to do something that made me uncomfortable in order to please the man in my life, I would do some soul searching and ask myself why it's so hard to maintain firm boundaries, even with the people I love. But I would also wonder why he felt that it was more important for him to always get what he wanted than for us both to be happy, and at some point I would have to talk to him about that. This isn't okay.
