Novels are not text books. So you should read them casually and move on. As you progress you will get the hang of the plot. But if you are unable to gain interest even after say 100 pages, then just dump it and select something easier. For instance I loved reading Sydney Sheldon, Alistair MacLean, Fredrick Forseyth, I just found Robert Ludlum's work just not to my liking. I would have tried his Matarese Circle some three times and gave up.

@in10RjFox The problem with Novels regarding myself, is that the dialect is different....The language seems strange or off alittle bit...As an instance, a sentence made-up of five words, those words are easy to understand but the positioning of those words makes me confused about what the writer is talking about, whom he is talking about, or to wom this sentence is referring....I'm not someone that can let-go of anything especially if that thing is concerning my understanding of a story or even a single word....I'm an Obsessed,Curious person when it comes to knowing new words or when there is something I can't understand.

Dumping a book I've started is not easy for me...I'm 5 pages into the Novel only, and I've repeatedly read every page ten times so far, why?Because I'm trying to understand the reference of this stupid sentence but I can't find any explanation or help online.

@Yassmeene how about posting a picture of a page or two.. ?
@Yassmeene do share the sentence you are having difficulty to comprehend
Maybe you are reading some difficult ones specially whose those ones set in 19th century backwards, I would recommend you to read Author Dan Brown early novels like The Digital Fortress, or Deception point, you would get hook to finishing it off in a week or so. This is coming from someone who isn't native English speaker as well, so you can go with my recommendation as well.
