Why did poor Gypsy Rose Blanchard go to prison after all the abuse she encountered?

@DarlingSelah European system is joke compared to America, you can get 3 years for killing someone. This poor girl was desperate. I'm not making excuses for her but if that monster was alive she would still be held captive, the second option she had was to call the police and tell them about the abuse
