@Grateful4you The effectiveness of lockdowns depends entirely on the country, and what other factors you are considering. All countries that locked down incurred economic damage, with severe damage being done to many economies across the globe. The main reason we are heading toward a recession is because of shutting down global economies in response to covid. Most global economists would say the U.S is already in a recession, and many from your own country are saying it as well.

In terms of how lockdowns prevented infections, why don't we specifically consider the U.S as an example? New York and California had very high rates of infection (with California being the highest), yet they had the most restrictions in place (with California having the most).

Iowa had the least restrictions in place, yet other states with more restrictions and similar or less populations had higher rates of covid. How do you explain that?

@SW-User Some really interesting food for thought, I would have to go back and review some of the data I haven't thought about in many months. Thanks for providing the Biden link, I'm going now to check this out. I appreciate your time and effort spent with this rather sensitive issue.

@SW-User I perused the link and am of course very disturbed by these extreme accusations. Because these claims are so serious, I'm going to take more time for a better understanding. It isn't that I want to prove you wrong, I really need to prove you're right. I'm the kind of person who given enough factual evidence is capable of changing my mind. At this point in my life, I just want a little quality of life rather than trying to find a place of integrity and folks sincerely seeking a better world.

@SW-User Hi! what a dreadful afternoon it's been I honestly feel a bit betrayed. I've determined that everything you said about Joe Biden's racism is apparently true. It hurts my heart knowing this but I would rather know the truth than continuing on in total ignorance. If it hadn't been for you I would still be feeling defensive and angry at folks claiming Bidens racism. Thank you for providing the wake-up call I needed.

As of today I will remain neutral in terms of support for either party. I feel both sides are likely corrupt. My goal is to get out of this country seeking to spend the rest of my days as peacefully as I am able.
