Would you be surprised if someone tried to assassinate a US President?

Just to be clear, I strongly discourage violence... and hope no one commit to any act of violence...

But I just had a realization that if someone assassinated one of the last two US Presidents, there would be a lot of jerks out that that would probably say something like "it's about time", and not be upset about it...

Just a sad realization of where American politics is right now :(

There’s been both an actual presidential assassination and an attempted one during my lifetime. So I’m always mindful that it’s possible. My mother used to light candles for Obama’s safety, both terms.
