Vote Save America

With the midterm elections coming up, I wanted to let everyone know about "Vote Save America." This is a group that matches you up with a close election, and connects you with a phone system where you call voters in that area to tell them about the Democratic candidate, and make sure they know how to register to vote or can access early voting or vote by mail. This can make a difference in close races.

https://votesaveamerica.com/

The last election demonstrated that every vote counts. If you want to do more to help elect Democrats, this is a great way to get involved.

why on earth would anyone still rationally vote for a Democrat? everything goes to shit when you give them any power
Ynotisay · M
@Torsten Reality just called. It's wondering where you've been.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Ynotisay must have called the wrong number because I been here the whole time. Where have you been?
Ynotisay · M
@Torsten Ah..you know. Reading facts and data. Makes life a lot easier.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Ynotisay sure you have buddy
Ynotisay · M
@Torsten Sure I have. And I highly doubt you and I would be 'buddies' because of it. Have a good one dude.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Ynotisay how sad it is when people get so obsessed with politics they cant tolerate those with opposing views
Ynotisay · M
@Torsten It's not an opposing view. It's an inaccurate view. It's like saying there is no climate change because one con artist out of 1,000 say it's a hoax. It's called a false equivalency and it's not my thing. Like I said, facts and data over feelings. And sorry dude but I'm a little past being patient with those who've swallowed nonsense. For whatever reason. It's pointless. So have your feelings. Act against your best interest. I don't care.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Ynotisay haha facts against feelings but just ignore facts on democrats fucking everything up once in power. sure buddy.
Facts are not facts just because you say so..
Enjoy Biden while you can. His time and the democrats time is coming to a end
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@Torsten Because the Republicans are even worse.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lila15 Hm I dunno as an older white male I'd like to cast my vote for people who aren't looking forward to me going away and dying.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster Considering that older people were the ones impacted most by COVID, you may want to ask yourself which party seemed to be OK with that by opposing social distancing, masks, and vaccines. Many of us were wondering why Republicans seemed hell-bent on killing off their own base.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lila15 You could look at it that way, or you could look at it as Republicans are fine with Americans making their own choices about their health.

I'll certainly take that over the Democrats attempting to mandate a vaccine that doesn't even work to prevent the spread of the virus it was ostensibly created to stop.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster It's not "their" health; it's saying that it's OK for people to make choices that affect other peoples' health. But Republicans won't extend that same courtesy to women who want abortions. So you can knock off the "Republicans only care about freedom" nonsense.

I can see why abortion was politicized, but politicizing vaccines and masks was insane. If Trump had encouraged masking and social distancing as a way to unite Americans against "the China virus," and had campaigned on having encouraged the development of the vaccine, he might have won reelection.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lila15 And you can knock off the strawman replies...

but politicizing vaccines and masks was insane

And yet, Biden and the Democrats had no problem doing that.

If Trump had encouraged masking and social distancing as a way to unite Americans against "the China virus," and had campaigned on having encouraged the development of the vaccine, he might have won reelection.

I wondered how long before your TDS would reveal itself.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster I see, Trump and the Republicans had absolutely nothing to do with politicizing masks, social distancing, and vaccines.

Talking about Trump is TDS? Have you noticed that he's holding rallies, endorsing candidates, and is on the verge of announcing his own campaign for president? He's still one of the major figures in US politics. But kudos for immediately jumping to "you have TDS" whenever anyone brings him up. Are you going to keep doing that when he's actually a candidate again?

No I haven't actually, but I've noted people like you cannot stop talking, thinking or worrying about what he's doing or saying.

That's a textbook definition of TDS.

Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster He poses an existential threat to the US as long as he's alive and not in prison. You seem awfully sensitive to any criticism of the guy. If he's as insignificant as you say he is, why are you compelled to keep pointing out "TDS?" Do you complain about people who are into stamp collecting and other silly hobbies?

What's interesting is how unoriginal conservatives are. The original version was "Clinton Derangement Syndrome," applied to people who were (and in many cases, still are) obsessed with everything about the Clintons, even years after Bill Clinton was out of office.

You answered your own question here. 👆

Oh is that right? I've heard from others that it was actually ODS, Obama Derangement Syndrome. Maybe you guys should get together and decide what the narrative actually is...as it stands you just end up looking silly pointing this out.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster Clinton predated Obama, but yeah, it was an observation of how obsessed some conservatives can be. Of course, when conservatives are obsessed with those two, that's normal, but when liberals mention Trump, it's "obsession" even though the guy is still a major player even if you're not aware of him.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lila15 Mention Trump? You do a lot more than that, as already stated you consistently throw his behavior and words up against anybody that challenges you, whether its relevant or not, then demand the person express their beliefs around whatever your current Trump obsession is.

Its more than a mere mention.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster I bring it up when it's relevant. If a conservative is complaining about a Democratic politician, it's hypocritical if they didn't hold Trump to the same standard. I get that you're a conservative and have utter contempt for Democrats, but you're awfully sensitive about Trump.

If it's proven that Trump instigated the 1/6 riot as part of a comprehensive plot to nullify the election and remain in power, would you want him held accountable? Or will you bring up the George Floyd demonstrations? If the situation was reversed, I'd definitely want Biden held accountable.

I am curious about your claim to be a former progressive. Are you saying that you used to be pro-choice, anti-gun, concerned about climate change, etc., and now you're the opposite? On every issue? I can see making a decision to hold your nose and vote Republican because you think you'll pay lower taxes or you'll see less government regulation, but an about-face on every issue makes me suspicious.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M

You bring it up all the time at every opportunity, It's like a nervous twitch.

Case in point:

Hm, are you? I have my doubts. In reviewing this thread, I'm reminded yet again that you don't respond in a relevant manner and have continuously ignored or overlooked my statements. It's as if you are waiting for me to finish so you can wade in and once again, impose another purity test on me...

Why would I share my personal journey with someone who doesn't listen to me? Why would I explain myself to someone who holds me in contempt? Who hates me?

I mean seriously, put yourself in my shoes if you can, reread this thread and respond to me honestly and relevantly and maybe we can talk further.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster If the GOP primary were held today, and the candidates were Trump, Pence, DeSantis, Cruz, Hawley, Noem, or Haley, who would you vote for? Or is there someone else you prefer? I just picked those as they seem to be likely to run.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lila15 I don't really know, and honestly it's irrelevant because I am not a registered Republican and wouldn't be eligible to vote in the primaries.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@SumKindaMunster If it was a choice between any of them and Biden in 2024, I assume you'd vote for whichever Republican it was? Or as an independent, do you vote for the Constitution party? Don Blankenship makes Trump look like Che Guevara.
