I Still Remember September 11

Sort of. I lived in Arizona, in either 3rd or 4th grade. All I remember is that my parents were worried and wondered if one of my relatives was alright. It just didn't feel real to me, and back then I couldn't really fathom how bad the attacks were. If it happened now I'd feel a bit more terrified

I'd only been six for about three months when they happened. My dad and I were waiting at the airport with my grandma, for her flight to New York. We saw the attacks on the news and she thought it was a movie, but my dad said it was really happening. Suffice it to say she ended up staying with us until the airports opened back up.

I drove to work and heard the radio guy say there'd been an accident but they made it sound like a small plane. By the time I got from the parking lot to my office, the second plane had struck and the whole office was huddled around the TV.
