I was a serving USAF PJ on a course in Florida at the time, once we heard, my team and I spent most of the day preparing to be immediately deployed to either NYC or DC as were told we could be. We didn't get to watch much of what was going on at the time but we did end up being one of the first groups deployed to Afghanistan in early January. A very sad time for our Nation with so many lives lost, then and in the intervening years.
