What were you doing on 9/11?

I had just dropped my son off at school, and returned home to enjoy a day off work. I never had the TV on, but for some reason, I turned it on. The first plane had just hit. I watched for a bit, thinking it was a terrible accident, and then the second plane hit. Knowing what that meant, I was horrified, terrified, and angry. I went back to the school to get my son, and we watched all day, openly crying as each tower fell. I live in Jersey, just across the river, so we could see the smoke for days after. The sense of sadness and loss for all those lives snuffed out still lingers to this day.
