when did you explain 9/11 to your kids

i explained it to my 6 and 5 year olds tonight. my oldest who will be 9 in oct already knows about it. my 6 year old said momma i think they flew the planes into the towers so they kill alot of ppl. from the mouth of babes. i dont remember 9/11 i was just a year old when it happened but my mom told me the story many times of how our neighbor came running in to tel her to turn on the tv while she was getting ready for class at college.

Correct. One of the terrorists hijacked a commercial flight from Boston and flew it into the side of one of the Twin Towers. Another terrorist hijacked a separate flight and flew towards the pentagon but he was over powered during the flight and it crashed into a field near the pentagon.

The flight that hit the World Trade Center did the most damage and caused the World Trade Center to collapse. I think 2 flights, one for each tower.

The CAA grounded every commercial flight after the twin towers were hit incase there were any more planes that were going to hit other buildings.

@justanothername today was even scarier we had a county wide lockdown of all public and private schools due to threats to local schools . I dont teach at a public school and ive never experienced an actual lockdown before even during my student teaching which was in a public school

@justanothername a student had posted on social media a threat against another school it was in another system but it was a student from the public school system i live in though i dont think i ever stepped into one of the public schools in the system.

@justanothername well at one the public schools in ga not in my area but a friend of mine that lives there told me that an sro at a school locked down accidently shot himself
