Security conscious

Apparently, Walmart has teamed with Brinks Security for the packaging of their maple syrup.

Only a skilled safecracker can open the bottle.

I think I remember that struggle. Our Walmarts offer 2 options, one like a 12 oz Great Value and another similar size non store-brand.

Soak just the cap in a saucer of hot water for 3 or 4 minutes (i.e. turn the bottle upside down and balance it in a saucer or dish with an inch of hot water). That will cause the cap to expand a micron. Then use a pipe-wrench to unscrew the top.

@Heartlander Thank you. Fortunately @chuck7882's hot water did the trick.

Otherwise I'd have had to buy a pipe wrench.

@Mamapolo2016

:) I was exaggerating about the pipe wrench, because even with the hot water it can be a bear.

Another Walmart maple syrup trick I learned in a moment of need ....

When you think the bottle is empty, run the hot water yap over the entire bottle for about 45 seconds and another half-teaspoon of maple syrup will appear.
@Heartlander 😂 And those silly people go out in the cold and tap trees!

@Mamapolo2016 Interestingly, I was just about to put the week's recycle out and I noticed yet another half teaspoon had assembled at the bottom of the already wrung-out bottle of maple syrup.

I think I'll give it another 3 or 4 days to see if there's even more. It's like it's trying to compete with the empty tooth paste tube. And it's not even a tube???

I have found that pouring hot water on the edge loosens it up.
@chuck7882 I knew that but forgot. Thanks! Pancakes for supper!
