What do you like about living in the southern United States?

The thing is I know the south is really diverse and has many things going for it. I have been to the southern USA to visit and had a good time. But depending on who you ask what’s it like living there? Southern meaning southeastern and south central United States. The southwest is its own region culturally and so on. I’m asking this as someone from the northern USA.
