DSA’s Position on Prisoner Release and Abolition
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) does not operate as a single monolithic party, and its positions vary by faction and context. However, the organization’s Abolition Working Group and its broader political platform make clear that DSA supports abolishing the carceral forces of the state — meaning prisons, policing, and related systems — and that this includes freedom for all incarcerated people Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)+1.

Abolitionist Commitment
DSA’s Political Platform calls for:

Defunding the police and ending their expansion

Ending the criminalization of working-class survival

Freedom for all incarcerated people

Demilitarizing the police and ending colonial policing

Investing in community self-governance and care instead of incarceration Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)

This framework frames abolition as both a political demand and an organizing strategy to build alternatives to prisons, such as community-based accountability and social services factually.co.

@Patriot96 Funny you mention that, I'm going to Utah this weekend and planning on picking up
more ammo. Cheap up there. 😁

@DogMan @Patriot96 at that point why not just mail ballots around the world. Let everyone decide who will be our President and what are laws and values will be. That is literally their next step. That and collecting all the guns in America so we can't do anything about it.

Great question. It's a mystery to me for sure. That being said, I believe there are a few points in their platform that most "normal" Democrats agree with. Open borders, defunding police, illegals voting and amnesty for all. I don't believe most are on board with the more radical segments of their bizarre plan.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@carpediem like those policies aren't radical enough?

It will vary from state to state. A lot of the democrats in my state are very middle of the road in their thoughts and idea's.

@nudistsueaz I hope they see the problems with the crazy socialists and vote against them.

I will take a classic liberal over a socialist anytime.

What is it that draws normal Democrats to the DSA party?

Hmm well probably the possibility of an America with universal healthcare, strong trade unions, public housing, worker protections, publicly owned utilities, progressive taxation, extensive social safety nets...

To name a few.

PS. It's not a party.

@Waveney Super awesome list but I'd add sick pay to that unless it comes under workers protections in which case you already included it! 😘😘😘
One things for sure. It will be an ‘ism’ of some sorts.. divide and conquer comrade✊

Bill is just afraid that Israel might finally be hung out to dry.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Tastyfrzz I believe he's honestly afraid of the insanity the socialism path is. Justifiably so

The draw is the laziness looking to life paid with other people's money. And the stupidity of believing it's sustainable.
