So oil production is accelerating. I'd like to see more evidence of how this is benefiting Venezuela's economy as a wholecrather than just the balance sheets of a handful of foreign oil companies (who are presumably recruiting their specialist workforces mainly from outside the country).
How is the 14% increase in cement output related to the increase in oil production?

@DogMan No, it had one of the most lucrative oil industries in the world. Without strong state oversight (as in Norway), that will never result in national prosperity.

@SunshineGirl They have typical south American culture and one can not simply put any tag to them without noticing the intricacies of it. As far as I have seen them, they like to earn 5 days and spend 2 days. And it has nothing to do with being poor or prosperous

Yes, Venezuela was once one of the richest countries in Latin America and among the wealthiest in the world, particularly from the 1950s to the early 1980s.
. By 1950, Venezuela had the fourth-highest GDP per capita globally, surpassing countries like Japan and China, and was twice as rich as Chile and four times richer than Japan.
The oil boom allowed the government to fund social programs, infrastructure, and public services, giving Venezuelans high living standards, low infant mortality, and longer life expectancy.
THIS SOUNDS HORRIBLE 😫 Thank God the Socialists took it all away, right Sunshine?

Does this mean Trumps capture of Maduro is helping Venezuela? It sure looks that way.

It wasn't a "capture"; it was a "kidnapping". Nonetheless this is good, as long as the Venezuelan people are benefitting.
