Your 2001 police claim (25 years out of date as well) is flat out wrong too. The police didn’t stop using nationalities "because it looked bad for Middle Eastern people.” Ethnicity recording changed because of standardisation and self-identification, not to protect anyone’s feelings. Police still collect and publish that data today.

So let’s be honest: this isn’t about bells, policing, or facts. You see a Muslim mayor and reverse-engineer a conspiracy around him. If Khan were called Donald and went to church on Sundays, you wouldn’t be inventing any of this.
