Why does it seem like Democrats love REAL Dictators?

I thought they hated Dictators. They hate Trump because they say he is a Dictator.

But now they want a REAL Dictator released from custody.

This is what happens when Socialism takes over. It ALWAYS turns into a Dictatorship.

22% of all murders in Venezuela are done by the Maduro regime.

If Trump now installs the rightful winner of the Venezuelan election (i.e. Maria Corina Machado), then MAYBE the capture of Maduro is justified.

But he won't because she got the Nobel Peace Prize and he didn't; so instead, he's continuing the regime, with a puppet president (Delcy Rodríguez) who has been told to stand aside and allow the US to steal Venezuela's oil.

Her continued oppression of the Venezuelan people, and the continued (modest) flow of drugs into the US will not be Trump's problem.

@G7J2O The only way this works is for it to go back to the way it was when Venezuela was prosperous.

That was when REAL oil men were there that knew what they were doing. When that happens the people will
reap the rewards.

Trump isn't going to TAKE their oil. He is smart enough to know that the only way this is successful is for the
oil production to get back to the levels it once had.

Trump will allow Oil to be sold to China in much greater quantities and Venezuela will prosper.

Hopefully they will not rely only on oil as they have, they need to also start some type of manufacturing to fall back on.

@DogMan Not going to happen sadly. Either fresh elections are called, which is the ONLY way "this will work" for the Venezuelan people, or Venezuela will become a failed state. The people will see nothing from any increased oil revenues; no country ever does.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@G7J2O Yes they need elections. But why would you think that oil revenues wouldn't work?

Are you thinking they will elect another Socialist Dictator that will just enrich his friends?

You don't have much hope do you?

No, they will elect Machado, who was the rightful winner.

Trump claims she has no respect or support in the country. But he's lying.

@G7J2O

Following Maduro's capture on January 3, 2026, the Venezuelan Supreme Court and National Assembly swore in Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as the country's acting president. While she initially denounced Maduro's removal as a "kidnapping," she has since signaled a willingness to collaborate with the U.S. on a "cooperation agenda.

Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado and Edmundo González (widely considered the legitimate winner of the 2024 election) remain influential figures, though President Trump has expressed skepticism about their ability to lead the country at this time.
G7J2O · M
@pdockal yup. So the regime will continue, the repression will continue, and nothing will change for ordinary Venezuelans. What WILL change is colossal oil revenues for Trump’s corrupt cronies.

Trump lies about Machado purely because she won the NPP.

I have to say that my money is not on Trump this year either…

@G7J2O

I guess you can't read
She didn't win
G7J2O · M
@pdockal My bad. However, her party did. And she is now leader of that party.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@G7J2O

That's doesn't mean she's the one to run the country
Another election would be ideal but ....
G7J2O · M
@pdockal yes. Another election would be ideal, so why not? The Venezuelan people will decide whether she should run the country.

By the way it’s worth pointing out that Maduro was in power, and a dictator, during Trump’s first term as well. They had oil then. Why take him now? I bet Epstein knows why…
pdockal · 56-60, M
@G7J2O

You just lost any respect i had
G7J2O · M
@pdockal this is part of Trump’s distraction plan. Sorry if you don’t like the truth.

@DogMan

WTF ?
get off on what exactly ????
DogMan · 61-69, M
@pdockal Not you...G7J20 It seems like they love Dictators in other countries. Why do they defend them as

if they are good people that help their country?
G7J2O · M
@DogMan I personally have not ever defended a dictator, be they Trump, Putin, Maduro, etc.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@G7J2O Trump is not a Dictator. 3 years from now he will be leaving office, if he was a dictator
like Maduro he would not.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@DogMan

Here's a scenario for you
He runs as VP
They get elected
President steps down
He's now president

And before you cry 2 term limit ... it specifically states "elected" not holding office ... legal analysis said it was a legal move
G7J2O · M
@DogMan All dictators have to leave office eventually. But no, Trump's next move will be running as VP for Vance, a la Putin and Medvedev, and then Vance will mysteriously "step down".
