Study shows Republicans are more diverse.

Study: ‘More Diversity of Thought on the Political Right Than on the Political Left’ – And It’s Not Even Close

A 2023 study in the British Journal of Social Psychology has recently gone viral, confirming objectively what critical thinkers in the previous decade had already deduced: that the political right “diverges widely” in thought, whereas the political left “coalesces around a very narrow set of opinion.”[/b]

Interesting. I wonder what a US study would say, both in 2023, and after another two years of Trumpism.

@MistyCee Actually it was done in the U.S. in 2023. What does Trump have to do with it?

I know many people think Trumpity Trumpity Trump all day long. But this has absolutely nothing
to do with who is in office.

It's funny though, that you would say that.
Not really all that surprising. The left has focused on one thing only since 2016. Dissing Trump. That’s why they have no sensible policy to offer the American people. @MistyCee @DogMan

@jackjjackson They have done really well at spreading hate. I guess that isn't enough.
Every day more and more patriotic US citizen taxpayers have concluded that the left have terrible things planned for the US that they strive to keep secret knowing that if they actually say it they will be banished at the very least. @DogMan

@jackjjackson I believe the same. Obama did come out and say it. He said he would fundamentally change
everything.

You really have to hate something to want to fundamentally change it. Sure, tweak it here and there. but not
throw it all out. Luckily he didn't finish the job.
Agreed. He and Biden didn’t create permanent damage. Most of their “malarkey” has been been undone and or fixed within six months. @DogMan
@DogMan Does it really have nothing to do with who's in office?

The Trump brand of Conservatism is pretty different than the Bush Jr era, for example, and while I'd call it reactionary and regressive as opposed to Conservative, even without addressing eliminating parts of the ten commandments for some folks but not others, stuff like tariffs and the unified executive theory are not traditional conservative thought.

I get that it's not just Trump. Limbaugh was telling dittoheads they were conservatives a long time before Trump, and Fox has long been wooing the illiterate and ignorant base, but we've had years of Trump saying believe only me and don't even listen to anyone else.

@jackjjackson Does "good sense" define Conservatism? My point wasn't that tariffs do or do not make sense, but that just a few years ago, they weren't a real big thing for most people who called themselves conservatives.

I get that Trump is just part of the history of conservatism in this Country, but I think he's had a huge impact and still is having it. Remember when Conservatives, along with liberals opposed weaponizing the justice system and the federal government for political purposes?

Trump's all over the place, basically hawking whatever he can sell that makes him look good or makes money for those loyal to him. And he's putting a lot of pressure on traditional conservatives and conservative values.

That said I do want to see this study. And my guess is, I'd like to see it done again in 5-10 years.
The honest “money people” KNOW that the President is on the right track which is reflected in the stock market. No other President in a century has attempted to change the economic policy that resulted in the huge deficit and massive interest payments. No other President in a century has attempted to fix the mistaken economic policy that has resulted in severe damage to patriotic US citizen taxpayers.

I’d kind of agree with you about conservatives. However Grassley is in his 90’s and times do change. Even more pressure is being put on traditional moderate dems by the loudmouth lime left.

@MistyCee
@jackjjackson You make Trump sound more like a radical than a Conservative there. For all the hype about communists and the radical left end of the Democratic party, I still feel like the pressure is nowhere near like what Trump has been doing by culling the Republican herd of non-loyal Trumpists. He's even pissing on the Federalist Society.

I'm sure most Federalist Society members identify as Conservatives on studies, so I guess that helps explain the "open minded" thing.
Radical? Seems progressive in its truest sense. Looking to the future with optimism and a reason for it. @MistyCee
