The Armenian population had growth in the Ottoman Empire. Eventually, the government did the Armenian Genocide, but before that happened the Armenian population went up, so somehow the mass murder of Armenians wasn't a genocide. Saddam Hussein did a genocide of the Kurds. Oh, wait, nope, that doesn't count because before that happened, the Kurdish population increased.
