@whowasthatmaskedman Well, I see it going back to at least Barry Goldwater, an extremist who pushed Reagan (am affable guy who delegated everything and was more a figurehead) who was part of the movement with Gingrich, the "Tea Party", and the move to embrace Fascist/authoritarian tactics which we've seen already and which intensified with DJT.

Some fixes are easy, in particular

• all appointments have to be approved by a 2/3 or 3/4 majority in the Senate. That would have torpedoed nearly every person DJT has ever put forward, and extreme Supreme Court & other judges;

• forcing bills to the floor of either chamber when 10% vote for it, with full debate...

If this were only a reality TV show, or the ruler of a tiny country, I could understand some of your reaction (although you would still join Lady MacBeth in you lack of empathy, etc.)

Unfortunately, it is neither.

He won in large part by lying.

Biden / the Fed had given us the best economy in the world.

DJT has destroyed it and intends to keep doing so.

He has also again destroyed our international reputation, but THIS time, it will have HUGE consequences for our country's future.

It is likely we won't ever recover our position, and people who supported him will understand that in somewhere between a few to 10 years.

Our country will likely take a long time to recover, but it's UNlikely that we will regain our pre-eminent position.

It's already happening, but even you aren't old enough to remember when the US didn't have the advantages of its successes in WWII.
