IBM just announced a 150 billion dollar investment in America. we are well over 1 trillion
in new investments from companies around the world. .
@Stunzeed4469 Until Canada just says no to Potash, Uranium, oil, and .... Sadly you are dependant upon other resources you don't have underground, and you are being led by a snakeskin salesperson who has bankrupted 7 casinos. Funny, we know the value of trade because what you need others have. (Happens to be the value of being neighbourly)

But if your country wants to be a bully, an unkind neighbour, we know when to pull away and trade with those who do. See how easy that is?
@awildsheepschase
Truer words were never spoken in your response here. As of yesterday after Mark Carney got Elected as Prime Minister of Canada with his LIBERAL government, he reiterated that Canada will immediately be doing business with other countries around the world as Canada continues it's detachment process with it's former Trade relationship with the USA.

The USA as you said, has NO natural minerals of it's own except for coal plus a minuscule amount of lithium. The USA doesn't even have it's own crude oil supply anymore, except for it's 'Strategic Reserves' around Alaska which as we know, means "Emergency-use ONLY"...

The same goes for fresh water and electricity... up to 90% of which has been coming from Canada to the USA for the last several decades. The shitte is about to hit the fan in the USA when Americans realize that they are totally dependent on foreign countries to keep America supplied with resources and those resources are now either going to be classified as 'not available for export' from Canada, OR the price will be through the roof.... it will be one or the other.

@DogMan Isnt this the same investment IBM was already planning? Because thats got a lot of ifs and buts in it?😷

DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
While I'm no optimist, I don't believe the USA is will be totally out of the game in another ten years.

The saying: "these things shall come to pass", comes to mind. As well as the idea that no country is even close to its best.

Yes, the USA has fallen. There's no country taking its place however. On scale of 1 to 100 perhaps the USA has placed at 10 and has fallen to a 5.

No country has exceed that ten.

I'm happy here. Drain that swamp. Too many homeless in own country, which is probably bigger than most country populations, yet gov throwing billions of my tax money on foreign aid. Just sayin it's about time we started checking our empty pockets for a couple years maybe and get ourselves out of a massive debt

@Stunzeed4469 No nation looks after its hurt, damaged and broken vets as well as their sacrifice deserves.. If they did, a lot of the problems you mention would never have developed. Thats one that cant be "fixed" for those people. But changing attitudes now will stop it continuing..😷

Why can't you answer him, Michigan man?

@Stunzeed4469 Someone is asking the right questions. Thank you. That decision has already been made and the answer is China. Now we might not like that answer. But that doesnt make it wrong. China holds all the cards. Even more than America did going into WW2. Industrial might, resource base, population in need of employment. And they have better fundimentals in the economy than most other players.. So they are going to be THE global powehouse. That is already decided. The only decision to be made is how we as nations react to that..
Now I will assume you are with me so far.. If so, I think maybe you can see that the US trade war with china is not the best approach. Fact is that China has learned a new way to wage war that doesnt involve a lot of total destruction and death. They gradually take over a nations economy. The manufacturing, the wealth, the currency. And America has handed them this one on a plate. They are currently in the process of losing the reserve currency status that has been Americas golden ticket for decades. Like I said. We may not like it.. But thats how it is going to be and Americas desire for cheap consumer goods played a large part in it..😷
Stunzeed4469 · 41-45, MNew
@whowasthatmaskedman well why fund the beast. You know all them princes and czars and whatever have billions more than us combined. But they got what everyone wants so everyone turns to American rich people to blame. Whatever floats your boat
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Stunzeed4469 Now follow me here and dont take this personally. But you only have everything you have because some foreigner made it cheap and shipped it to you and your country borrowed money from some other foreigner to pay for it and now you cant pay them back....And your President is saying how unfair it is to you...😷

@Stunzeed4469 True, some people enjoy aggravating others just for fun.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Stunzeed4469 @Infamous607 In this case, my thread was aimed primarily at non Americans. Admittedly to show everyone, including Americans, that people around the world dont like the way America handles business. Particularly under the current administration. And my the numbers, around a quarter of the population believe America is doing OK. Thats over six billion who think you have lost it.. So the comments of a few MAGAts we get here notwithstanding, I think its time to take a good look at how America sees itself.. Because we see it different..And we are sick of carrying the bill..😷
Infamous607 · 46-50, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I get you. I agree.
OOh - someone is triggered...

@DogMan be careful, he doesn't like facts and logic, he's ALREADY deleted a few of my comments
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BigGuy2 Your comments were deleted for personal abuse. You having an opinion doesnt make it a fact. Particularly if trump said it..😷
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@whowasthatmaskedman NOPE ... you set the abuse in motion, if you can't handle personal abuse, don't set it in motion

@swirlie In my view Canada always got the $h*t end of the stick on every trade deal. I see the reasoning. Having America as a next door neighbour was a built in defence pact.. But now thats gone out the window with all the pretence of mutual support.. From now on every nation should look at America as an "also ran" trading partner. Not to be trusted with the kiddies.. (I mean, look at the types we get here)😷

Oh really ... so which Country is better

@whowasthatmaskedman oh really, so what kind of person is that 🙄🙄🙄

🤔 ... YOU enlighten us ALL
{if you don't, you're bullSCHIFFING aren't you}

I'm guessing kangaroos learnt how to box after the men got bored and wanted a change from being 'friendly' with sheep

🤔 ... "are you awake Dolly"

Your logic has fallen down: your Country is a non-entity, stemming from those criminals, what is America, the most powerful Country on Earth

🤔 ... waiting for the tumbleweed to blow 💨💨💨
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BigGuy2 The kind of person who has no principles involving community, charity or caring for others at the very least. Which may make you a good predator in the food chain. But its community and the ability to put others before self that is the difference between animals and humans. Dont get butt hurt about that. A lot of Sociopaths make it to the top, by stepping on others on the way up. But they have intellect way above your pay grade. And they dont need to follow the Trump playbook of diverting, or discrediting when they have no facts, as you do.. So it doesnt matter whether you are a paid shill working a script to push this agenda, or some sad internet troll seeking relevence by repeating the doctine you see on FOX. Or maybe just some sad attention seeker looking to have someone...anyone, to talk to. You dont have a case, nor are you intelligent enough to make a constructive argument. You best hope is to make enough noise to feel like you "won". Go home and kick the cat.. You are out of your league..😷

Can't you handle the TRUTH 🤪🤪🤪

... that's why you've deleted my response isn't it 😎😎😎
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BigGuy2 I can think of several good reasons to delete your post. Personal abuse is a good one. And that will continue. Also this thread was clearly aimed at non Americans. To gauge just how sick of putting up with attitudes like yours more than 95% of the world is. The rudeness and stupidity aside, I normally focus on the economics of a position. In this case its the permanent damage that Trump and his see saw tariffs have done to the trust required for international trading relations. America has run out of feet to shoot itself in, thanks to trump. Those trading relationships have handed the game to China..😷
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
If you CAN, why the need to delete my response 🤪🤪🤪
