Are you buying American?

It doesn't matter what side of the aisle you are on, we should ALL be trying to buy American.

As a construction material contractor, I didn't realize how much of our material was made
overseas. Last week, after the Tariffs went into effect, the very next day manufacturers
levied Tarfiff surcharges on us. Most of them are between 25 - 35%.

We have told them all, OK, we will buy American. We have already opened new accounts
with manufacturers, and reactivated old accounts.

The sad thing is, I believe many on the left will NOT buy American, because they hate
Trump far more than they love this country.

Actually I am a Canadian and we are actively avoiding EVERYTHING and ANYTHING made in America... We prefer things made in Canada but you see we can buy anything from anywhere ... other than America.. See what happens when your President pisses off the whole world? Turns out the world can exist just fine ... without America...

@pdqsailor1 try to feel better

@GuidanceCounselor Canada produces 80% of the world's aluminium essentially there is no other source of it, your West Texas refineries operate exclusively on Alberta crude. oil.. Virtually all the electricity that the North East USA relies upon comes from the Province of Quebec... Your farms can't operate with out potash from Saskatchewan.. I feel fine but I would like to see what happens to America if Canada leaves the oil and potash in the ground (farms produce no crops and gasoline prices instantly jump by $1 US per gallon) we warehouse our Aluminium and shut the switch off on electricity... (manufacturing of all aluminium parts - air craft, automobile engines and transmissions, Tesla bodies and frames, NYC goes dark - no elevators, fridges, banking, ATM's stock market shut down, no heat or air conditioning - general mayhem in the streets) - it would not take 24 hours in the case of electricity its not just NYC, entire north eastern US states would experience the same inconveniences.... It would be fun to watch the tumult and to listen to what Trump had to say about us then...

@GuidanceCounselor Adjust or choke to death? No crops, instant $1 US per gallon increase in the price of gasoline, decimate your manufacturing sector with severe aluminum shortages and a massive increase in cost and we turn the US north east including your stock markets, banking and concentrated metropolitan centres back to the Stone Age over night.. So if we do these four things... and give Trump the choice of backing off tariffing Canada or being brought to ruin what is his choice going to be? Invading Canada is not like Invading Afghanistan.. this is a HUGE country and is unmanageable for an invading force..

@pdqsailor1 Wow, you have some crazy conspiracy theory there. Please Oh Canada,
have mercy on the poor downtrodden of the United States. Democrats have bankrupted
our nation, we need more money or we will perish. Maybe that is why they bankrupted us.

@pdqsailor1 America will survive and eventually soon, be better off...time will tell
pdqsailor1 · 61-69, M
@Midlifemale you fundamentally do NOT understand that the control points I made are things that the USA can NOT work around.. When we stop shipping aluminium and we make 80% of the worlds supply - where in the hell are you going to get it and at what price.. You instantly need ten nuclear reactors to have enough electrical power to produce the amount of Aluminium we supply you now... It takes over a DECADE to build them...If you can finance them...and in that period of time with NO aluminium going to you your manufacturing sector is DECIMATED...You do not control Aluminium WE do... and if we stop to ship it.. you get none... not at a higher price - at no price... The only other place your west Texas refineries can get the same grade of heavy oil we provide now - is from Venezuela and the only country you have pissed off more than Canada happens to be Venezuela... The immediate impact on gasoline in the USA is $1.00 a gallon Canada has the fourth largest proven reserves of oil in the world.. the USA does not work very well without OUR oil... the biggest and most immediate threat to the USA is our massive surplus of electrical power... We shut off the switch and your hair goes on fire ... immediately... NYC grinds to a HALT .. and inside 72 hours people are killing one another to get something to eat...Let alone everything else that runs on OUR electrical power.. Our potash.. you can not grow squat without our potash... One season on the shelf you will find food prices flying though the roof as you need to import food to hold off starvation...
