Taking a few steps back for perspective
I know I complain about America as it is a lot.. And I dont live there.. But in spite of everything it is still an important nation in the world, which makes it important to understand. First, we have the seperation of powers. The Executive, who govern and make law. The Judiciary, who carry out those laws according to the rules.. And the church, which deals with all matters off the spirit and afterlife. And in theory each is supposed to be independent of the others..
So lets look at how each is doing:
First, the Government. Yeah. I know.. No matter which side you are on, or even if you dont care, I think we can agree this isnt going so well. Certainly not the "Of the people, by the people, for the people" you all signed up for. In fact the almost complete distraction from the global issues and paralysis of the internal workings at many levels has caused wailing and gnashing of teeth all round. And quite publicly for all nations to see. Not a good look.. And bothe the Judiciary and the Church have been interfered with and in turn interfered with the processes of government. And we are no nearer a solution that we were a decade ago. Maybe worse..
Next, the Law. There have always been two legal systems in America, which you might think is wrong. But it is what it is.. If you have money or connections, the rules are different.. At least everyone understood this and it sort of worked. But now, with political interference appointing judges with extreme views and even dubious qualifications, and congress and the senate calling for prosectuions to be taken up, investigations under law to be mounted, or cases to be quashed, this system is also disfunctional and suspect going in to a case. And dont get me started on the role religion plays in framing or overturning precedent.
Now to religion. Christianity is a big player in politics, where it has no place. Religion is about eternal life or whatever you believe. While politics is strictly about this earthly realm and how we all get along in it. And the two shouldnt meet. But they do and they intrude on the lives of everyone, believers or not. Not that the Muslims or the Jews are any different.
All using the legal system and politics to future a cause and impose their will..
So. In summary. No one is doing the job they were hired for. And everyone is in each others sandbox, (no matter whose side you are on) and spending all their efforts holding off the other side, (whoever that is) while to exhausted to make any actual progress on anything..
Anyone who really wanted to make America great again has got one hell of a lot of work to do...
Thats my rant for the day..
