North Dakota Midsummer Calendar Highlights

Similar to Minnesota's summer celebration of 10,0000 lakes, North Dakota has it's yearly competition of 10, 0000 Cream of mushroom soup hotdish recipes. This years winner gets a round trip, all expenses paid with Miss Baked Potato to downtown Athol North Dakota for a Lutefisk and Lefse dinner with major Clarence Lundegarrd and his wife Edna. An extravaganza you won't want to miss!

@Iwillwait Huh what?
Iwillwait · M
@Grateful4you an "All expense paid trip with "Mrs Baked Potatoe?" Is this really real?
@Iwillwait Yes and no. More like satire. Look up "Lake Woebegone" on YouYube the events are fictional but based on a culture that while exaggerated is based largely on truth.
Iwillwait · M
@Grateful4you Lol! Ok, because I was like isn't Athol in South Dakota?
Iwillwait · M
@Grateful4you This literally sounds like my insides giving a play by play of what's to come from what I've eat'n lol!
@Iwillwait Whoopsie! Yes you're correct, didn't think anyone would notice. 😜
@Iwillwait You're the ONLY person I've ever talked to that even knows the town, pretty awesome.

@Grateful4you oh, I'm googeling the crap out of this post. Lol! It's by far the weirdest but quasai believable story line. Lol!
@Iwillwait Too freaking funny. Who would thought I would actually meet someone who knows a town most people in SD don't even know of. I built a geodesic dome in the Black hills (Just outside of Hill City)
Iwillwait · M
@Grateful4you Really!? That's awesome. Did.you sell the dome?
@Iwillwait Sadly, yes. BIG MISTAKE!
Iwillwait · M
@Grateful4you I was always enchanted by those geodome houses. Kinda always thought it would be and interesteing existence for living in.
@Iwillwait They are incredible, the most energy efficient by virtue of the design. In the dead of winter and nearly buried in snow, just one little log in our cute little woodstove, just minutes later, had to open the skylight since it got too warm.

It was three stories high, built on a platform suspended on cement pilings over a creek. It was magical.
