What is going on here? 22-year-old woman vanishes while documenting cross-country trip with boyfriend

"Brian is refusing to tell Gabby’s family where he last saw her," the Petito family said. "Brian is also refusing to explain why he left Gabby all alone and drove her van to Florida. These are critical questions that require immediate answers."

Her parents kept talking about her in past tense: she was this and she was that. This also makes me wonder a bit, but not as much as her boyfriend completely refusing to cooperate.

@SnowBlack Yeah, I'd be out of my mind, and I'd certainly not be sitting in my house...it's a parents worst nightmare...

@SnowBlack That’s because dude came back to Florida ten days before she was declared missing. It’s been weeks now. She’s almost certainly dead, and that dude looks guilty as hell.

@fun4us2b Her step dad and other members of her family are out in Wyoming now.
@SnowBlack I don't know the specifics of the case but it is possible the boyfriend was told by a lawyer to STFU. I mean who is the first person they always suspect? It is to the point it is a cop show cliche and sometimes that leads to investigative tunnel vision. I mean it might seem insensitive but how many people over the years have talked their way into a wrongful conviction. The cops are not your friends.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow He’s behaving in an incredibly suspicious way anyhow, so…

Literally, the only way he could look more guilty at this moment is a full confession.
@QuixoticSoul I mean based on what I could find publicly there are options that don't mean he killed her. They could have had a breakup during the trip. If that person later goes MIA given the focus of the police any lawyer who is not a complete moron will tell you to shut up.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow But his every action make him the prime suspect.
@TheSentinel Agreed. Although I will point out the male SO is always the prime suspect to the point of it being a cop cliche.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow No disagreement on that. But if I was in his position, I would be doing everything in my power to assist in finding the culprit, not go into hiding
