Schama is an educated man and his grasp of the relative importance of historical moments is not to be dismissed. He also seems to be a good judge of character as well as history.
@FreddieUK Personally, I don't like him because he once went against me on Twitter. Yes, I've been that long controversal. It was my contentious then that a Flemish carnaval wasn't really guilty of antisemitism. The locals considered it more satire like Charlie Hebdo does. Anyhow, I agree with him here on Hepseth in France.
