Well, no, that's no what happened, at least not to the rest of the world.
The only people who think he "shot his mouth off" and are mocking him for not wearing a suit, (seriously??), were/are Donald Trump and his followers.
It's bizarre that anyone can side with a man cozying up to Putin and Russia.
