What's your plan if nuclear war breaks out between NATO and Russia?

that is a dumb question. NATO has several members that belong. what is the chance that Russia will put itself at risk?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@akindheart Putin was just talking about nukes over the situation even in Finland. Now that Finland is apart of NATO and we are apart of NATO, the USA would be involved and therefore the whole world be up in arms.

@DeWayfarer Putin is the proverbial boy crying wolf. He has been threatening nukes for a few years now. The truth is:

- NATO states have a combined population of 966 million spread across two continents with standing armies of 3.5 million.

- Russia has a population of 144 million concentrated in two major metropolitan areas with a claimed military strength of 1.3 million.

If it ever came to war between Russia and NATO, it would be over quickly. It would be horrible and would most certainly involve a limited nuclear exchange, but it would be over quickly and the world would go on.

@sarabee1995 I don't believe he is quite sane. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The way he has treated his own military personel sort of shows that.

He cares little about his own people.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@DeWayfarer All true. But also all reasons why many in the West do not believe the Russian military would execute a nuclear order.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@sarabee1995 they are taking it as an act, like sometimes Trump did with his own bad taste theatrics.

Some of it though on both is not an act.

This is like a take on the saying: the Best lie has a little truth to it.

It's that same principle.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer my entire point. Russia would be going against a lot of countries who will annhilate Putin and Russia
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@akindheart please read my last reply to @sarabee1995
akindheart · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer i did but i like Sarabees answer the best. her numbers are facts.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@akindheart there's a saying that applies, especially in this case: You don't reason with the insane!
akindheart · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer and who are you calling insane? putin or me?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@akindheart sorry! I thought it was clear. Of course Putin!
ArtieKat · M
@sarabee1995
Putin is the proverbial boy crying wolf. He has been threatening nukes for a few years now
Well expressed! Even the Chinese have called his bluff over starting a nuclear war.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@ArtieKat right, and now they are trading like nothing happened. Very good show that Xi put there for the world!

Xi is not insane. Yet he knows how to deal with insane.
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@akindheart It's called MAD for a reason. No one survives. Not Russia, not the US, certainly not Europe.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TakeCare87 have you ever argued with insane?

You don't reason, you act!
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer I don't know why anyone would want to provoke an insane person if one truly believes he is insane.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TakeCare87 then you get nothing done! You must play along! Not provoke.

"Yes you have a nice invisible doggy"!
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer Well, NATO intervening would be a provocation. I'm not certain why US and Europe would be willing to sacrifice themselves for Ukraine rather than negotiate... Besides only one country has dropped two of these terrifying weapons so far and it's not Russia.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TakeCare87 you can't give up though! That would be disastrous!

Caving in on Ukraine would be giving up! He'll continue. He's insane!

BTW think you need to look who has the most nuclear weapons in the world! And take it as a fact!

It's not the USA nor is it China. Nor is it the USA and China combined!
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer
Craving in on Ukraine would be giving up! He'll continue. He's insane!
What evidence is there of that? This the same guy who was negotiating a peace deal with Ukraine until Boris Johnson decided to thwart negotiations.

Yes Russia has the most, but they don't have a history of using them. Not once.

@DeWayfarer You do appreciate that the Crimeans want to be part of Russia? Much like the people of the Donbas begged Russia to assist them?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TakeCare87 do you even understand expansionism? 🤷🏻‍♂️

He's a dictator and a insane one at that! You'll never hear any objections on any of that!

You need to go to underground sources! Heck even the Russian oligarchs are complaining about Putin underground about Navalny!
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer
do you even understand expansionism? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Yes. It looks like NATO approaching ever closer to Russian borders despite the fact that the USSR is dead. Again. He was negotiating a peace deal. BoJo thwarted it. Crimea WANTS to be part of Russia so too the Donbas yet somehow, this is all Putin's fault... Nevermind that he didn't take the Donbas when they begged, he gave them Minsk.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TakeCare87 looks like NATO is shoring up for a defense you mean finally! Crimea was their warning shot!
