The leaders of the world have no talent for detente.
There's nothing cohesive for allies to unifyingly get behind.
In short, nobody knows who the bad guy is anymore.
It's a sorry state of affairs
@Picklebobble2 you are absolutely correct. America thinks they are a world leader, but we are not. they want to say how everyone should live but that they are not the world police...and i keep saying "we are the world police and we should state that loudly and clearly and act like it"

@DIABLISS I think a lot of the western worlds troubles are down to not having an America they recognise.
Up until ten years or so ago most countries would describe themselves as either pro-America or anti- America. Largely based on U.S. foreign policy.
But protracted stays in the Middle East cost a lot of allied lives as well as American. With nothing to show for the expense of loss as a result.
Then COVID came along and we saw how some took it very seriously and others just screamed Keep working ! Keep buying ! Keep Consuming ! Keep the airports open !.... and while politicians played God with people's lives, the 'consumers' were watching their elderly loved ones die on Zoom !
@Picklebobble2 i can't argue with any of that...I really don't think America was ever what it thought it was

@DIABLISS So now the entire world is in a state of flux.
Leaders are slowly learning they don't have the support of their people.
Watch what happens in the next three elections.
I'm betting the contenders will get poorer; fewer will bother voting and then you run the very real risk of having poor Presidents; Prime ministers and policymakers elected in minority governments achieving little
Big business is learning that they don't have the pull they did pre-covid.
And worldwide people are pleading for the next generation with fresh ideas and a new approach
@Picklebobble2 i think all we have left are a few elections. The very rich will retire to their compounds and will never be heard from again. Some guerrilla types will take over and start running things in the "name of the people". But really just to let their third world leaders take over the world. Commodities will run out. Then things will turn into some end of the world scenario type movie...The End.

I wonder...when things get really bad, which tv show or movie will most people emulate?
