Women of the Red Army

In June 1941, Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union with the intent to conquer and enslave its people. In response, over 2000 Russian women enlisted as snipers in the Soviet army.
The female sharpshooters who entered the brutal and sordid front lines of WWII became a terror to German soldiers.

The most notorious of them all, was Lyudmila Pavlichenko – also known as Lady Death. She reportedly killed over 300 Nazis in less than a year of combat, and later went on to train younger snipers. “We mowed down Hitlerites like ripe grain,” she once said, undeniably also referring to her comrades who lodged extensive kill counts of their own.

Roza Shanina, her comrade, killed a total of 59 Nazis at the age of 16, and was dubbed “the unseen terror of East Prussia”
These women, and over 2000 others, were snipers for the Russian army who enlisted after Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941.

They were true heroines in the fight against fascism.

Such a shame these women really did fight Nazi fascism but their reward was to return home to a dictatorship for the rest of their lives.

@BritishFailedAesthetic and the fact the Soviet would kill at least 10 times as many ppl that the Nazis did. A lot of concentration camp prisoners hoped that it was western allies that liberated them. The camps that Soviets liberated the prisoner especially the Soviet prisoners of war which were taken to the concentration camp instead of pow camps like the western allies were mistreated by them
@Mountainlady16 Well, I don't like to downplay Nazi atrocities so I don't mention that.

Simply:

Nazis killed on the basis of ethnicity and Communists based on being an enemy of the state.

@BritishFailedAesthetic act the communist committed a lot of genocide as well based on race or religion but had the Nazis had been around as long as the communist alot of us probably wouldn't be here if they won the war. Germany had a long history of religious intolerance my own people escape the German states and came to America because they were persecuted

@BritishFailedAesthetic the scary part of the damage caused by Nazis was they did that in12 years what kind of damage would they caused had they lasted the nearly 70 years that the USSR did

Yes, if the Nazis had longer, they'd have killed far more people.
