So you live in a major city

When WW3 starts, there will only be 20 minutes before your city becomes a nuclear pile. If you move away, you might live, but then you have to deal with a planet covered in nuclear waste, suffering horrible death from radiation and lack of food.. Humans will turn on each other. Potentially a slow painful death.
Is it better to remain in the city and turn to ash instantly instead?

🤔.............At least the housing market will come down to an affordable price again.........
Lol, it doesn't matter where you live... nuclear power plants are all listed on Google maps.

Anyone wanting to maximise the effects of their bombs aren't going to be looking for cities as much as they are for power plants. Get a direct hit there and your odds of irradiating your opponents just sky rocketed.

I’d rather go in the initial blast. Having said that, while I do foresee some form of WW3 happening I don’t necessarily see nukes happening as there are no realistic winners in all out nuclear war.

In the suburbs 30km from the cirt centre, out of line of sight with some protection.. As long as the prevailing wind is cooperative we should make it through the blast and have time to make a decision.😷

The are certain areas that is close to mountains, some of those are not as obvious as others.

Fallout goes where the jet stream goes. So if you're in LA you're simply SOL as well as anywhere in the jet streams path.

Having read this, i will go back to Marcus Aurelius' Meditations , which is far more useful in facing one's end and living between now and then. Give it a try.

I will just walk outside and embrace it, who wants to survive after that.
