Yes, he retired shortly before his unit was deployed to focus on becoming a member of Congress.

I retired from the U.S. Army too, and did so because of an upcoming assignment I didn't want to do. I'd had enough and retired... just like Walz did.

He did not desert. End of.

Apparently they don't have good ideas at the moment. Their defamation campaigns don't lead anywhere, only those who are already Trumpists will buy it, and these are not the target. There must be a certain feeling of despair right now, amongst Trumps spin doctors.
