Have you been affected by the cost of living crisis?

Something odd happened with our electric bills last year. Customers received a letter from the power co. saying the rate was going up and this would result in an increase of $80/month for the average customer. Sure enough, when the bills came in next month, mine had gone up by $80 and Mum's by $120.

There was such a protest... including competition from city hall who began arranging for lower rate service from another provider, that the rates went right back down again the next month! People can only stand so much of this nonsense.
