I Love History

I'm afraid the US is heading for proving the old saying"if you don't learn from history. You are doomed to repeat it.". We haven't been this divided since the war of northern aggression and I'm afraid we maybe headed towards another one.

Germany has been divided most of it's history.
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: I guess you don't know our history.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: Yeah first the German states and than east and west
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: This is exactly what happens when you skim the textbook instead of reading it.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: what do you mean?
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: You should be able to figure it out.

Until the 1880s that were separate German states and than until ww1 a empire and than a repubic, Nazi Germany. After ww2 that were divided east and west though weirdly Berlin was capitol of both. Than from1991 til now modern day Germany

So most of German people's history they haven't been one country.
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: That's interesting... because back in the day the Austria-Hungarian empire was pulling the strings despite not actually owning the different territories, or at least that's what I've heard on museum tours and whatnot.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: so even though the German states didnt belong to tgem they controlled them. England royalty once also ruled a German state. They were ruling family of both I mean

The US has been divided most of it's history. Just look at all of those different states!

This discussion is retarded.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: the U.S. is one country though the states are just parts of it. The German states each had it own government.
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: Except most of them were governed indirectly through the Austria-Hungarian empire. I've never once argued that Germany was a single country in those times, but I will argue that it wasn't divided.

Das ist dumm. Ich bin raus.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: Yes but most of it isn't all of it so it was still divided
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
@sassygirl15: Ich sagte ich bin fertig. Verpiss dich.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@IchBin2: I Dont speak german
IchBin2 · 22-25, M
