1679Britain passed the Habeas Corpus Act which made it illegal to hold anyone in prison without a trial.





In May 1888, Owen Glynne Jones completed the first recorded climb of Cader Idris by the east ridge of the Cyfrwy.


1895Birt Acres, a British inventor, patented the film camera/projector.




1919 – First Transatlantic Flight Completed.
The NC-4 aircraft successfully arrives in Lisbon, completing the first transatlantic flight in aviation history. This groundbreaking achievement opens new possibilities for international travel and communication.The flight demonstrated that oceanic distances could be conquered by aircraft technology. Aviation pioneers proved that the Atlantic Ocean no longer represented an insurmountable barrier to human flight.



1927: The Ford Motor Company ceases manufacture of the Ford Model T. Introduced in 1908, some 15 million were produced in it's 19 years of production.








1964: Radio Sutch is launched by pop singer Screaming Lord Sutch from an ex-army fort located at Shivering Sands in the Thames Estuary. Little more than a publicity stunt it's low power and unreliable equipment sees it limping on for another four months before Such sells-out to his manager Reg Calvert who would re-launch as Radio City..
