Did the Inquisition in Europe find anyone innocent, as it seemed sadistic?

@jshm2 Isn't Holywood in America?

A lot of what you think you know is through ... literature

It's strange you should say that. All of what I know was through reading literature, both non-fiction and fiction. In fact, that's how traditional education works.

I've ignored Hollywood because it has little effect on me since I was about 16. I have to admit that the Monty Python team were unexpectedly informative.

No, there was no fun in that.

It took me a while, but I worked out that 'incident' should read 'innocent'.

I don't know, but I doubt it. I agree it was very sadistic and no doubt some enjoyed their work, or at least became inured to human suffering.

@FreddieUK What was the suffering? And why do you say sadistic? They just wanted to get what they want. That is why if you said yes to them, they will let you live. If you say no, you will get strangled if you are lucky. If you keep saying no, that is when you get burned alive.

You've answered your own question.

@FreddieUK Sadism is for fun. Death in the Inquisition was a punishment. You don't die if you converted, or if you fled. Those who didn't were martyrs for Muhammad or whatever it is we Jews are meant to worship.
