I have ancestors who are worshipped. I posted their tombs here several times.
One I almost never post about is a woman. Some see her as a powerful spirit, and others think she is a demon.
She was an intelligent woman. That's all.
There is lot of folklore surrounding her historic existence. And she was called by many names throughout the years.
Guess who got named after her.

Whenever I tell a particular group my name they are always looking at me with suspicions because they associate it with dark witchcraft. I don't do any type of my people's witchcraft but it does have plenty of traces in who I am in person, my taste, my home, my thoughts..not because I believe in its supernatural effects, because it is a part of my complex ethnicity.
The name itself in my ancestors language is a good name. It just came to evolve to something negative the more west you travel.
Not among my people though. They still honor her.
