Well.. no. Slavery was ultimately ended by the invention of the cotton gin. The advance of technology made the last arguements to use humans as farm tools obsolete.
Before the industrial era slavery was just how you got things done without having to do it yourself. For thousands of years... on every continent. America was just the last to abolish it. Almost every prisoner of war was turned into a slave. Slaves were often gifted to other nations as offerings to boost economy. Just a different era we cant compare with anymore.

@GuyWithOpinions without a huge global breakdown in all systems, the USA can't regain hegemony.
The recent SCO meeting and statements from Putin and xi point to that course.

@GuyWithOpinions not anymore. There's been a rejection of neoliberal economics and a reigning in of the oligarchs everywhere but the US and Europe. There's no Chinese Elon. Real estate in China isn't a bubble.
You mean "We chose war" as it happened in the past, or are you hinting at events to come?

@JamesBugman No, the Americans reenact it every day, and they have been warring since the civil war. I mean they choose war as a nation and that's unique. Not universal.
