The Iran conflict dates back to 1953. "Iran's oil belongs to the Iranian people". The USA and Britain killed Mossadech for saying that.

They installed the shah and claimed that they'd develop the oil reserves in Iran for themselves.
War and denial are normal in the West and nobody but I remember the history of this conflict you're waging as Americans. Anyone here admit to 1953 on? Nah. I dare you. You nevah. You war on fire with fiction as your reason! Lolz!

The oil was already developed in Iran. This is why British did not want to lose it. Britain engaged in diplomacy regarding oil agreements with other nations, but were unwilling to do it with Iran due to the significant profits made and Mosaddegh wanting a very quick transition to nationalization of what was a British enterprise. The resource belonged to Iran, while the rest had been built and operated by Britain.
