The Games That Are Played
The Olympics is a venue for sportsmanship, comradery, and a fellowship of bonding between athletes from nations all over the world. What has taken place in Paris is in sharp contrast to the harsh realities in Ukraine and the Mid-East. The untold carnage of human suffering has overshadowed what the Olympics symbolizes.
The trajectory the world is now heading steered by the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Iseral and the US have continued to instigate repercussions that have only fueled the flames of terror. In doing so they have displayed utter contempt to what the Olympics are all about. The United States in particular thru disingenuous domestic and foreign policy directives from the past 60 years have had profound consequences that have made our planet a most inhospitable place.
The repetitive course of human nature ever since antiquity has sought domination over others. It is a sad commentary that we continue to ignore the lessons that history is supposed to teach us. It was General MacArthur who is quoted " If nations cannot find peaceful means to solve their differences Armageddon will be on our doorstep." We have continued to ignore his warning and so many others.
In the United States the wheels of time have turned the tide into turbulent waters. With this Presidential election forthcoming, one of the most consequential of our times, will have a global impact for decades to come. Nations of the world remain at a critical juncture in the history of humanity. The despicable actions taken by a few have and continue to do are having catastrophic consequences for man and nature. And, for some the world is not enough.
It is in the spirit of the Olympic games that should resonate through-out the halls of governments and yet too many officials already have predetermined agendas far removed from the harsh realities they themselves have put millions the world over into. The consequences of these actions continue to cause tremors of unrest., It is these tremors that are responsible for the major repercussions disrupting the chain of events that lead to civil unrest which manifests into violent confrontations. All this does is promote the insanity that is taking place in so many areas around the world.
When will all the insanity end? The major question that two few will recognize or even address. Education is paramount in researching history to insure we do not repeat the mistakes made by past generations. For they failed in not recognizing that they too kept repeating the mistakes that history is supposed to teach us.
When someone once said, "What we do in life echoes in eternity." A most profound statement. The history of mankind is written by the consequences of that phrase. History has conveyed that the virtuous side of man has been overshadowed by the evil that men do. And to this day the evil that men do continues to undermine much that mankind has done to elevate the quality of life for millions around the world.
