On the 7th May, 1943, General Montgomery and the 8th Army captured Tunis. It had been a long advance from Egypt!

@Roundandroundwego Eighty one years ago. Montgomery captured Tunis, Britain and her allies finished the North African desert campaign, Wingate launched the first Chindit operation; the Russians defeated the Germans at Kursk, Britain and her allies invaded Sicily and I was born.
