So you favor the Confederacy...

@CorvusBlackthorne No... But as a southerner, I favor economic growth. We have been left behind for so long.

@Justice4All you havent been left behind you couldnt keep up..biblehumping and greasy bbq... isnt working out

@RedFlower Hey, don't talk about our barbecue. Putting chicken in the oven and throwing some barbecue sauce on it isn't real bbq. I wanted to make that statement a while back when a certain person posted their barbecue on here.

I'll make a long range prediction about Oracle, mostly because I know the origins of Oracle.

Back in the 1990s, Oracle started as a outwardly known Chinese database company. TOTALLY known by EVERYONE that it was a Chinese company. Some of the remark statements in the code and the documentation was written in Chinese!

Oracle is going the route of Bytedance and Tiktoc.

It'll take a while, but it will happen!

China has been collecting every bit of data they could, ever since the 1990s!

This is why I knew tiktoc was subverting social media.

We are at war with China, whether you like it or not! And subtlety and subversion is a well known Chinese trait!

Think Ninja! And the art of war. Sun Tzu's Military Methods.
What many people do not realize is that “ninja” is a Chinese word and itself serves as a testament to the Chinese roots of the ninjas.

It literally translates as “the one who endures,” a rather appropriate appellation for someone trained in this particular fighting style.

It is spelled in the Kanji script with two letters, which, in Chinese, are pronounced “nin sha.”

We were the last states to be inhabited and we do not have near as much infrastructure or available jobs. Money can't be generated where there are no jobs and a growing population.

Maybe if the northern states would Bible bump more there wouldn't be so much crime and shootings. We don't have to lock our car doors at night. A crack head in New York would bust someone's window in just to steal five dollars out of someone's console. Someone in Philly just this month shot up a bunch of kids at a bus stop. Never in the south

Also your food sucks. That's why you guys are so skinny and we're all fat and happy down here.
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@DeluxedEdition This part of the country is growing. That's why so many people are relocating to Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. It's beautiful down here. Not like Philly, that city looks like it got hit by a nuke. It used to be that people from up north would come down here and laugh at us because we didn't have anything. Now, they're coming down this way and they're amazed because we don't have the clusterf*ck problems they have up north.

2 reasons: 1. Less unions. 2. The cost of living is lower, for now, meaning they can pay slightly lower wages than say in New York or California. As someone currently living in the South, I can confirm that is changing very fast.

They're just moving from Texas to Tennessee
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@Northwest Really? 😂
@Justice4All Really. Oracle moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, in 2020. I guess Texas didn't work out so well; better luck in Nashville!

But don't worry, most of their software engineers remain in California & Washington.

You're internally colonized as well, but you're okay with exploitation, so nobody would hope you change a thing. You deserve always this and only hard work with war as the output. It's your victims who deserve better.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
A lot of major companies have moved their headquarters to somewhere in the South. It's a wise economic move and usually a win/win situation between employer and employee.
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@Nitedoc And we are reaping the benefits. There are a lot of developments going on. Everyday, you see new factories here in Georgia and new stores, etc. I don't know about the rest of the country.

@jshm2 Yeah, VW tried that. And their Chattanooga, plant just voted overwhelmingly to go union! First domino to fall??
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Employees at a Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, overwhelmingly voted to join the United Auto Workers union Friday in a historic first test of the UAW’s renewed effort to organize nonunion factories.

The union wound up getting 2,628 votes, or 73% of the ballots cast, compared with only 985 who voted no in an election run by the National Labor Relations Board.
@ElwoodBlues 😂 Those workers are now making $35 an hour. $70 for overtime. There's no easy way out for big corporations. It's happening to Amazon too, and next Tesla.
@Justice4All Personally, I think the idea of a non-college graduate being able to earn enough for a middle class life is a great thing for the nation. Unions were a big part of achieving that in the post WWII era. and the decline of unions helped lead to the decline of the middle class. Yes, unions (in the short term) lead to inflation & higher prices. They also lead to a strong middle class which is crucial to our long term prospects as a nation.
Yeah, but that’s not the context in which they meant it.
So-called "Critical Race Theory", reversing the Voters’ Rights Act and pretending that the Civil Rights Movement never happened—that’s more in keeping with their plans for "rising". 😳
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Believe me, I know exactly how it works here. I experienced issues voting in the last election when I had to drive out of town to vote just because the voting address in the system was showing my old address. Republicans use these tactics to suppress the Black vote, has been going on since Blacks could legally vote.

In this case, I'm happy to see the South flourish with opportunities. When a new factory comes to town, of course, the whites don't want blacks getting those jobs. They do everything possible to keep wages low for us. There's such a large black population here. In fact, I was hoping soon we would become a majority in states like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and North Carolina. The problem is there is little opportunity for blacks down here and so, there is a continuous migration. The whites don't have to migrate to find jobs because they inherit wealth and have connections. As a black person, aside from places like Atlanta, you basically have to relocate if you want to move up in life. This trend has been happening since antebellum, when blacks in these states actually outnumbered whites. After the war, they terrorized us so much. If not for Grant, and Civil Rights Act of 1875, they would have wiped us out -- the same way Israel is doing to Palestinians in the Gaza.
@Justice4All Yes. That’s why so many of my family members left the South. I lived in Atlanta while I attended college. In those days, education was the key, and the generations right after slavery were teachers, and other educators.
Seems you still have a LONG way to go!

@ElwoodBlues Blue counties tend to possess greater wealth, even on a per capita basis. Even so, the data you shared doesn't address per capita GDP. 500 counties, encompassing 81 million voters. However, the number of counties is not significant. The blue counties typically have substantially larger populations compared to their red counterparts. It's like comparing California's GDP to North Dakota's. Both states have roughly the same number of counties. But of course, California has 40 million people and North Dakota has less than one million people. However, GDP per capita in North Dakota is higher than that of California.
@Justice4All says
Even so, the data you shared doesn't address per capita GDP
Not directly, but the split in the electorate is nowhere near as wide as the split in the GDP.

Perhaps the map below is out of date. At any rate, you seem to be making the case that GDP per capita is not a particularly illuminating measure.
