On this day in 1858, the British defeated Tantia Topi in the Battle of Betwa, during the Indian Mutiny - or the Sepoy Revolt to use another name for what was probably the most bitter war of Queen Victoria's reign.

I’m certain you’ll delete this but it blows my mind that some folks can’t fathom that [b]most[/b] people prefer to be "masters in their own home". It’s a "mutiny" when Native people resist being ruled by foreigners ? And yet today some of you complain that an Englishman of Indian descent is your Prime Minister ?
