The Evil That Man Continues To Do

When someone once said "what we do in life echos in eternity" is as profound as it gets. History of mankind is written by the consequences of that phrase. We's like to think that we all come into this world by our creator with innate abilities. Our own history tells us that the virtuous side of man has been overshadowed by the evil that men do.

In all of recorded history there have been those who hide behind cloaks of deception and deceit willfully aware of their heinous intentions. It has always been that man continues to be brutally, savagely and horrifically attacked by others. An innate sense of survival propels such atrocities. No! A will full, malicious, and calculated carnage upon humanity continues masked by reshaped ideologies.

In the 20th century global conditions gave rise to the Nazis who inflicted one of mankind's most notorious and catastrophic carnages against humanity. The determined resolve by Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill instilled the rest of the world to act swiftly to eradicate the plague of domination where forces gathered to destroy freedoms everywhere. A World War ensued finally eliminating one of history's most atrocious and horrific acts of unspeakable horror on mankind.

Today, the world again finds itself faced by those hiding behind cloaks of deception and deceit. They are masked behind a perverted sense of ideologies reshaped to justify their blatant, willful and yes, calculated brutal savagery against all. This time there has yet to be a urgency displayed by nations to stop wave after wave of terrorist acts that will transport mankind back into the cave of the Neanderthal. Our values, our tolerance, our freedoms, our virtue, and our land are being attacked with each atrocity played out on the world's stage.

We are all living on the very narrow seam of civilization and moral oblivion. Still, many of us don't see the real eminent authentic threat we all face nor do we with unequivocal resolve contemplate eradicating any and all persons and organizations that sponsor, sanction, support, or carry out acts of terrorism against mankind. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who most eloquently wrote, "Moral sentiment is the drop that balances the seas." Today, the seas are so far out of balance. We are drowning in our moral myopia amidst a worship of political correctness.

There still remains an inadequacy by nations in achieving total commitment that continues to enable terror to strike virtually at will anywhere around the world. The Islamic Extremists by far are the Tsunami of terror followed by others who are just as destructive using mayhem and horrific violence as a means to achieve their perverted ends.

We are all at a pivotal point in history. Civilization as we now know it is poised on the brink of either falling into the Abyss of caves or stepping on to the path of moral rightness where peace and harmony prevail. We dare not wallow in complacency, in a misguided tolerance and a naive sense of security. We all have to be diligent students of history. The scourge of terrorism, the most malignant scourge of mankind must be forever eradicated if civilizations are to step on to that path and away from the brink of the Abyss of caves. We cannot retreat into the blatantly of our routines oblivious of the carnage elsewhere or look at the headlines and presume the "good guys" will always prevail.

Lessons learned from history are invaluable tools that will enable civilizations gaining the knowledge to thwart and dispel all who threaten the sanctity of life. A global resolve to eradicate terrorism of any form is paramount to the future of mankind. We must act now with total commitment by each nation to end once and for all the carnage that plagues all of humanity.
And the era of the Nazis gave rise to the era of human rights and international law. Then the Americans made war on everyone.
