This was asked a few days ago and I said fall of the Berlin wall and I think I'm gonna keep my answer. In the future I hope I witness the fall of all borders.

@HannibalAteMeOut No. We had a visitor from East Berlin in the lab when I worked in London. We bought him drinks for six months because we thought he had no money. He spent his last week buying all the electrical gadgets he could find to take back. Turned out he had loads of money 😆
HannibalAteMeOut · 26-30, F
@SW-User bet that's why he was able to visit in the first place. He must have thought how hospitable English people are lol
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@HannibalAteMeOut Oooh. Good one. I change my mind. I'll hope I can see NK and SK reunited like Germany although it seems impossible for now. 🥺

We should handle our business and let other countries handle theirs
All 8 billion people are just cells of a single organism. We all have different functions but we are all just one organism. If one group gets "cancer" or some other deadly disease, it can kill all of us, the single organism. so, what happens on the other side of the planet matters to us on this side.We should handle our business and let other countries handle theirs

probably unsolved mystery. Something driving conspiracy theories. But only if my vantage point helps solve it. The obvious ones include:
1. The JFK assassination
2. The Tonkin Gulf start of the Vietnam War
3. Who authorized the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba by dissidents
4. who erased Nixon's audio recordings on the watergate break in
5. whether obama really sat through 25 years of AIDs conspiracy sermons in church without hearing a word of them.
6. Whether the catholic church knew all along about the nazi holocaust, but kept silent

When Jesus gave the Sermon 0n the Mount. It was a societal paradigm shift. Back then society judged the next 7 generations if a person did something bad, their descendants paid a harsh social price. Als0 empowered people t0 think differently in regard their weaknesses and problems s0 as t0 overcome them & become stronger

@TheSirfurryanimalWales that's just sad

@SW-User Wishing the death of a man who invaded a sovereign nation for little reason beyond his ego and has stood by as his troops commit numerous war crimes?

@SW-User when you consider the plethora of other really vast, impressive, and fascinating things that have happened throughout history...yeah

Signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1320. Love to see how genuine the signatories were.
helensusanswift · 31-35, F
@Harmonium1923 The Scottish one, when the Community of the Realm wrote to the Pope and declared that Scotland continued to be independent. It is possible that some aspects of the Scots 1320 Declaration influenced the US example.
Harmonium1923 · 56-60, M
@helensusanswift Very interesting. I’ll have to read up on it.
helensusanswift · 31-35, F
@Harmonium1923 One of the signatories of the US version was John Witherspoon, from East Lothian in Scotland. He was quite an influential figure in the US and may - I emphasise MAY - have been involved in writing the US document. Some of the language and ideas mirror the Scottish one.

Wait. I'll change my answer. The WWII was the past and I'll hope in the future North and South Korea reunite as one nation and no more DMZ.

SW-User
@Fukfacewillie Apparently at Appomattox, Grant turned up in a mud splattered uniform and was only granted entry as soldiers on guard recognised him.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@SW-User I love that. Unconditional Surrender Grant!
