Serious post though. I wonder if arrows were used before pointers or vice-versa.

"Arrows" meaning the ones shot from bows to kill people, and "pointers" meaning the ones written on signs to point you somewhere.

I'm pretty sure arrows appeared before signs, otherwise how would people know which end of the arrow to follow when you draw one to point the way?

@SinlessOnslaught Yes. There is evidence of bow and arrow usage around 71,000 years ago in Africa. Writing and use of symbols only goes back about a tenth as long.

I imagine that murder arrows came before symbolic arrows in the evolution of stick technology.
