What's your knowledge of history really like? [I Love History]

This morning I spent correcting the views of a senior academic fellow on the Maginot Line and why the Germans actually did win the Battle for France. I couldn't believe my ears that the knowledge of historical facts is this low. I had to remind him that the non-retrievement of damaged French tanks and such were really important details. Is knowledge is a real decline right now?

I think I have a decent understanding of it, and how to find out info about stuff I don't know. My interest in it kinda stems from me liking military vehicles, so that introduces various wars, politics behind them, etc.

@deadgerbil Yes, but you're not going to make basic mistakes by saying that the Germans won because of the Maginot Line. I think.

@val70 I'd try to avoid it lol

Speaking of history stuff, ever hear of mark Felton? He has very good videos

@deadgerbil No, I haven't but I know about that invasion. I've collected the Osprey Military little booklets on 1940 and found those a bit too limited in their coverage also. Not many would know of the battles of Hannut and Stonne.
