This interesting little building stands above a small river in Midlothian, Scotland. In the 18th century, landowners liked to build such places to make their houses and lands more picturesque, more romantic. This one at least has a function of being a place to sit and enjoy nature. I incorporated it into one of my books, which is one reason I took the photograph.

@jimjim1969 Aye- you trip over history in Scotland. Within three miles of my home I have a dark age fort, a mediaeval castle, two battle fields (685 and 1010), a cannibal's home, a mysterious temple and a bronze age souterrain. Oh, plus an army training base from Queen Victoria's time that the Royal Marines still use.
