I Love History

I have been researching the history's timeline of one century ago.
Does history repeats itself?
Looks like it to me!

I studied the history of Spanish flu.. H1N1.
How it begun and to it's bitter end.
It started in 1918, lasting till 1920.
The year of 1919, it hit hard and fast, didn't matter if you were elderly or a child.

It had 3 waves.... Look, read, learn.. for yourself. Please.

They wore masks a century ago. Social distancing, lockdowns.....

It was deadly to some extent for over 10 years.
It under went several mutations.

The medical facts and how we reacted to this virus, Covid19, is the same as it was a century ago!

Thank God for modern medicine!! That in our favor.

Then came the Great Depression, 1929-1941.
I read what they did to try to regain control and help the stock market out.
It's the same song and dance now, as it was then.

My husband and I were talking about what his grandfather and mine once said about this period in time. Hard times, a domino effect that lasted for years to come.

People are mentioning, this is the "new normal".
It just maybe the beginning, the tip of the iceberg.

Don't want to be gloom and doom but... We do not want to be caught... as they say...with our pants down!
We are going to continue to prepare, for a long drawn out crisis.

We want to learn from history.

From what I see, we never seem to learn from history. It’s as though modern day humans, no matter the age they are in, always think that they are different from past generations. That they are smarter, stronger, more invincible than those who lived before them. I think it’s human mentality. We suffer. We forget. We make the same mistakes.

@Carissimi Some humans maybe like that or feel so...
not this one..nor my husband. We are learning from past events and how people react. Fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice.. shame on me.

Individuals, yes, but I’m speaking in a general sense as a species. @Echoing

@Carissimi I know...
Aren't you..I know I am... happy not to be like most.

I’m definitely not like most. Two things come from this: I stay true to myself, and it’s a damn lonely life being a misfit, but that’s the price I pay. @Echoing

🤗@Carissimi You are not alone, I am a misfit.. and yes.. that is the price we pay when we are true to ourselves instead of following the crowd.
