I Love History

Holy mother lilith I've been studying appalachian history and I have to say regarding Abraham Lincoln and the south We should have rebuilt the south and turned it into an industrial power house after we ended slavery and the great tradegy of Abraham Lincoln was we ended slavery and the southern reconstruction was halted and never completed.

The South lagged behind the rest of the nation for generations as a result of Abramam Lincoln. Their whole economy is a backwater.

We need a Marshal plan for the Southern united states.

I don't know if Lincoln deserves blame...although maybe if he'd gone to the theatre less he'd have had a better change of actually implementing reconstruction properly, rather than Johnson and his successors who just wanted to try and forget the civil war ever happened, it seems.

@AngieB I think Lincoln probably had a plan to rebuild the southern economy but was assassinated.
