I think she was captured as a supposed spy by Japanese. Roosevelt did ask her to take a look at the south East Asian sea to look for military buildup while she was flying around.

Saw that photo, looks a little like her but I think nobody will ever know if it is or not, it's interesting that so many people spend so much time and energy looking into her disappearence

I've seen comments on that pic by Earhart specialists and they say it doesn't prove anything, that it may not even be her ... But interesting still :)

they have already disproven the pics. they were published 2 years before her flight
